David Garrett has been an active member of the maritime community for over forty years. He focuses on technologies particular to the safe navigation of maritime vessels and the utilization of radar for land-based applications that detect, identify, and track security threats to our critical infrastructures and maritime domains.
Licensed by the FCC, David started his career as a field service engineer repairing and commisioning shipboard navigation and communication systems.
He soon transitioned to project management, where he had a significant role in building maritime vessels, including two chemical tankers and a US Navy project. He was also instrumental in the design and procurement phase of a cruise ship program.
In 2001, David moved on to take a more active role in Sales and Business Development. For the last seven years, David has been focused on applying what he has learned, with a particular interest in providing technology to protect our nation’s and allies’ ports and maritime domains.
David is currenly the Director of Business Development in North America for Spotter Global. This presentation, however, will not be Spotter Global-centric. It will also examine many other technologies and solutions, including high-power radars, low power Doppler radars (for close-in surface and ground-based detection), radar guided surveillance drones, and Sonar (for underwater detection). He will also explore how systems might integrate into a command and control system (C2) or a video management system (VMS).
